Just got my seeds started! I'll be buying pots for my herbs and soil as well this weekendl.

What do ya mean - I'm zone 10 and can plant year round. God, I love Florida. I already have lettuce, parsley, chives, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers and green beans growing. We have also started 3 orange trees and as an experiment for school have planted 2 pineapple tops.

Hey Phillips,

In Uk it's about just same as you, At the moment i have potatoes in the dark room sprouting, soon i will be setting up seed trays (i am on holiday from thurs for a week so will start after my holiday), this year i am growing Leeks, Eggplants, tomatoes, potatoes, bell peppers.

When i come back from holiday , weather permitting I will cut back the raspberries so new sprouts grows out at lower end not at the top end!, remove dead rhubarb leaves and cover with little hole at top for few weeks to encourage new shoots to grow upwards instead of flanning out.

In May time (or before if we get over the last of coldest april frost) i will put everything in ground except for tomatoes/peppers, they go in larger pots as i get bad slug invasion!

Then spread compost/manure to keep plants warm/fertilised.

i will setup garden this spring or summer but not too early!!

Have you experienced with broccoli? Second time years that I had not successful and its always few heads? I did trim the top of the head but the head produces little? :hmm:

This weekend or next weekend? Pictures!!

I will post here to how to build an inexpensive miniature hoop-style greenhouse!

Hi Phillips, I have no experince with brocoli, my garden is tiny and i can only grow few things at a time!! BUT my father who lives in Austria grows them (he got huge garden but it's under 2 m of snow at the moment!( I will ask him when i go over tomorrow as i am flying out to him and my mum tomorrow (very excited!!)

thank you for the reminder! it's on my to-do list for about 10 days from now!!

I have no garden but I want to know more about it. I looked up the zones and found it can be 8 or 9 depending what website I am looking at. Which one should I go with?

I would say that if you are close the the boundary line for both, then go with 9 so you don't run into problems, but then again, I'm not the expert.

I am zone 10 for most things, but zone 9 for others and I just pay attention to zone 10 only.

My tomatoes are coming along great, lettuce is growing like crazy, peppers, both hot and sweet and doing great. The orange trees started from seed are coming along and the pineapple is doing fantastic!!

My husband will be excited to see this instructions. He is anxious to garden and it looks like the snow will never leave here.

Last year was horrible due to too much rain. Hopefully, this year will be much better.
