V (television series)

It was alright, but they went too fast, skipping important elements from the original and not giving us time to interact into character development. They basically went through both mini-series in a crunch time.

Next week, they'll prolly slow down to give us time to get to know each character to allow us to develop a understanding of who they are and what their backgrounds are.

First episodes and especially first season gets shaky at best. It takes time to develop each character and write a good story about them. If that is, they have a staff of good writers.

For me, I want good stories, less special effects.

That is the #1 problem I got with it. Its going too fast there is no "feel" to it. I ask myself if I have never seen the original would I feel different about the new one? and I still think no because it just that bad. But I will watch all of it anyway. It might get better.

There are several I like about this tv show.

- CGI of spaceship is pretty good for such TV program
- Laura Vandervoort play another alien role!
- Become part of drama n' suspect in sci-fic
- New plot that Visitor has been already here in Earth before attack
- Reveal several of Visitor willing help instead later
- There is one of them, always stubborn, join the bad.

That tv series only appear to have total of 4 hours for this November. Again new series will come up in Spring.

Yeah, the Suits at ABC are retarded. They're doing that on purpose to cancel the show. In fact, ABC, NBC and CBS have never been sci fi friendly. Any sci fi show that comes along, it will not last long and ends up on the chopping block.

Well, it get me curious on the FBI guy who die and he manage to be alive again. Have to see what's going on, face against the high-tech what old V don't show.

Actual interesting...

The V series (back in the 80s when they weren't captioned) were far better than the new V series in a lot of ways:

- Story depth

When I say "story depth", I'm talking about the plot line that becomes better and better toward the end.

- Originality

The original series had that "Why didn't the Sci Fi guys think of that plot" feeling.

- Cast

The cast for the original series was well put together with excellent chemistry to make the story more exciting to watch and wanting to watch more on the next episode.

The new V series are good. I liked it but I preferred the original series because then, the series were well done and not remade. I admit that the original series on DVD are much more fun to watch now that they have subtitles added to allow us to catch up on the shows we missed out on in the 80s when captioning was flaky on TV.

Faye Grant (Juliet Parrish in the original series) will always be my favorite actress from that series. So was Jane Badler.

I remember too, my older sister would watch it all the time. I was just a child then. I have to admit that it scarred me for life after seeing them pull off their skin.

I'm still interesting... The original is make the human being pregnant. Now, it seem that there is alien girl try to seduce the human boy. I hope to see Star Child come up and see what happen.

Yeah, it could be the boy who knocks up that alien chick.

However, it could be someone else.

If they were to make it similar to the original V, then it could be someone else.

In the original V, the boy who became a "Friend" (aka Chancellor in the new V) ended up betraying the humans... where the humans tricked him into betraying the Visitors. So, he became alien food. :)

I now watch "V" ABC tv show on Hulu.com / caption. I had missed it each Tuesday night. I m happy to watch it /CC. :)

I've been catching up with V on Hulu online. :)

I've already seen the first two episodes. I'll watch the 3rd episode later this week... maybe tomorrow. :dunno:

Lately, it's more twists and turns on the new V in 3 episodes less than what I watched on FlashForward. I cant believe ABC is now ruling the roost when it comes to dramas like Lost, FlashForward, and now V.

It gets more interesting with each new episode, but this Tuesday (the 24th) will be the last episode until March. So that means I gotta grab all the dvds of the original NBC V (1st V, V the Final Battle, and V the Series) to tide me over til March.

PS to anyone please dont post anything about the last episode until Saturday the 28th November when it posts to Hulu/ABC.com. That way we can keep the thread spoiler free. It is because V is posted online 5 days after its airing on TV unlike FlashForward is posted online on Friday after it airs on Thursday.

Hmmm if that was the reverse would the alien be laying an egg or give birth? ...now call that complicated!

We'll see what happens further down the road with Lisa...
