Wal-mart

The main reason why I don't like shopping at wal mart because of employees are very rude because every times I shop there and I see employees chewing gum like cow and carrying waters or soda on the sale floor. I go to desk service to get money order and they are very slower and of chit-chat! Target are the best! I have no problem shop at Target, sale floor very clean and nice employees. Few months ago I was shock what my fiancee told me about pranks throwing diapers, food, drinks, anything on her car while she shopping at walmart midnight!! walmart manager give her a free car wash.

What's difference on between Wal Mart and Target for employee policies, are you allowed to bring water or soda to salesfloor at Target?

Wal Mart is too way strict on time limit that you are require to get done, such as cases per hour, if you don't meet so you will get fired but not know about Target.

I do like Target but Wal-Mart has a better selection of clothes than Target does.

I love shopping at the 24 hour Super Walmart near my home. Never had a problem there.

The one near my home is one of the nicer Walmarts in my area..very clean, more updated look and etc.

My daughter just got her glasses there and the staff at the eye place were very professional.

I think it depends on the store manager on how well-run each Walmart is. Some are lousy and some are good. I was fortunate that the one near my home is one of the best-run Walmart in the Baltimore area.

I don't shop at Wal-Mart. Never stepped a foot in Wal-Mart, except one time with a self-proclaimed goth... Urgh.... and I regret going into that store.

Why I don't shop at Wal-Mart? It's not Canadian....

Giant Tiger > Wal-Mart.

There's transcript under picture in People of Wal Mart website, it seems helpful for you to find out about what happened to picture.

Ooh okay. I didn't realize this thread was about a picture. :laugh2:

Got it. But I'm not finding a transcript anywhere.

CJB, the picture is of a goofy looking guy wearing bright yellow smile boxers, a funky black buttoned shirt with some flames and skulls, black socks and sneakers. He's also wearing a black hat and sunglasses. No question that if you saw this guy in a store, you'd do a double take.

I think that this particular picture is funny and fair game. What I objected to is making fun of people based on things like their size, race, disability, dental issues and other things that they cannot help or may be because of poverty.

Have to agree with you there. If people dress funny or to draw attention that's they're choice. Definitely game for joking about!

Also agree with you about size/race/disability being a different story. :ty: for the photo description.

My wife and I shops Super Walfart often cuz it's cheap and it closer to our home. We have Super Target just a block away. If WM don't have it, we go to Target. One way or another. Both stores are clean and "upscale". It was never crowd because we have Super Walmart 8 miles away (Bonner Springs, KS). Either store are still close where I am.

As for odd people, I have seen plenty at WM. I've seen people walked around with strange clothing in the middle of the night. I walked with postal slack, tie dye shirt and sandals on, I'm just being odd sometime.

Well, I've walked in with my pajamas before, Who has time to change into their clothes at 3 am when one of your child is sick?

You weren't complaining, just giving you what's behind the curtains and it happens across the country.

Haven't you read the memo?

WakeUpWalMart.com: Wal-Mart's secret memo

Yiz

this applies to pretty much all companies in the world. YMMV. As selfish as I may sound - I don't really care because when I enter the store as customer.. I expect my customer experience to be "wonderful." I want to buy the product at the price that I like. I want to be treated nicely by employee. What's happening behind the scene? well.... not my problem. If they don't like how they're being treated - simple... quit and leave.. and apply for K-Mart/Target/etc. across the street.

Everything you have at your house that you bought from... they all have some bad stories.

The only reason I love shopping at Wal-Mart is because of their low prices, why buy a product somewhere else for more when I can get the same product at Wal-Mart for less?

exactly. Wal-Mart is responsible for about 3% of American GDP. That's....... really significant. Wal-Mart gets the supplies cheaply and available to anywhere, anytime. It drives America.

I'm not fond of Wal-Mart but I recognize its crucially-important contribution to this country. When I used to live in Virginia for college - Wal-Mart is where I shopped often for everything - food, supplies, furniture, etc. I prefer Wal-Mart over K-Mart. Like what Cheri said - why should I pay more for a chair at Office Depot when I can buy similar for cheap at Wal-Mart?

It would depends on store, some prices at other store is less than wal mart, usually come with ads and compete against others, yes, wal mart is tends to have lower price than other stores. If you want find at very lower price for groceries and items so you could go to army base but you need have family or spouse to be member of US military.

yep! You can get a friend with military ID to buy it for you. I had friends at West Point. the stuff was dirt-cheap!

Well, I've walked in with my pajamas before, Who has time to change into their clothes at 3 am when one of your child is sick?

in Virginia - I always shop there late at night. I know what people were saying that the lines were HORRIBLY long. I do not like dealing with that. It aggravates me. Late at night - yes there were some weirdo customers there but at least I can go buy my stuff and leave quickly

I worked overnights at a 24 hour walmart near my house over the summer. The experience was awful. They really don't treat their employees with any sort of respect. My short experiences there just reinforced my negative opinion of the corporation.

I had depending on the day or the week between 3 to 7 direct bosses all telling me to do something different. It was a nightmare. Not to mention they got mad if I asked them to repeat themselves, like I choose to be HoH and not listen to them. There was one good manager but he quit a month after I started. Luckily it was a summer job and I could count down the days until I left.

I have never and will never shop at any Walmart.

And I really hope i never have to hear the "Wal-Mart Cheer" again...

It's normal to see in late night, I did noticed too and just like same with drug store.

Wear pajama and shop is better than man wear boxer and shirt while shopping.

If weather is cold so feel not comfort to go out with pajama, just rather to use jean or buy meds as backup if child is sick.

My boys rarely get sick so there's no reason to buy medicine in advance. But, I always buy Tylenol for pain, fever and headaches because it always needed especially after their vaccines shots.

I hate shopping at Walmart. It's really noisy and the lights are really bright. They're always moving the produce around and the isles are really hard to navigate. :(
It's probably your Walmart location.

I've never had that problem at any of the Walmart stores around here.

There are at least 16 Walmart locations within 10 miles from where I live. I live a quarter mile from one of them.

There's one Walmart location about 15 miles from here that's energy-saving. They have their own windmill that generates electricity. They also have skylights and adjust their interior lights depending on how much light is coming through the skylights. The more light from the skylights, the dimmer the interior lights are.

Where is your Walmart location?
