I believe that we need to be a nation that cares for one another. That it isn't always "The Haves" telling the "Have Nots" "Suck it up. I made it, you need to too". I believe that we should be caring for the sick and the poor, not letting them die from starvation and lack of healthcare when WE HAVE ENOUGH TO GO AROUND!!! We are the wealthiest nation in the world, why are there people starving? Children without clothes? Why are there children in cities that don't have a safe school to go to, or qualified teachers to teach them, while others spend hundreds of thosands every year to send their children to the "best" schools.
I get so tired of Republicans who say this is a "Christian nation". No we aren't. If we were, wouldn't we behave more like Christ did? Wouldn't we cloth the naked and feed the hungry? Did Christ ask how hard someone was looking for a job before he was willing to help? Did he call people "welfare cheats" and "lazy good for nothings" because they needed his help?
While the Republicans call themselves Christians, the democrats live the values. And THAT is why I will vote for Obama.

Great point!! I agree.

I'm a registered independent voter. I will vote for McCain/Palin. My personal opinion is that our national defense is most important. If our nation isn't safe then nothing else (health care, economy, etc.) is possible. Secondly, I don't want the USA to become a Euro-style socialist country. I want it to stay a free capitalist country.

My sentiments. :)

Agreed. I wouldn't be pleased if USA revolves into something mere like E.U.'s, too. So it's good thing that we are Americans yet hope that USA still sticks on as a free capitalist country in our time and future.

I thought the exact same as Hear Again and faire_jour.

I have heard some Doctors and specialist say if universal health care kick in they will leave the US.

They said it will cause them to be overworked and underpaid.

They are just don't understand and too greedy.

Doctors spend many years in college and internship. If the government take control of health care it just takes away the freedom might as well turn into a communist country

Salary cap for this and a cap for that capping off what people have worked for is taking the rights for the one that bust their asses to achieve their goals.

If your boss reduced and capped your salary.... Would you stick around? I wouldn't I would leave and find someone to pay me what I'm worth. That is the freedom we have and I would like to keep that.

Slowly our rights are being taken away.

I think McCain/Palin is the one I will vote for. They have more realistic goals. They have more potential to make things for the better and making realistic promises that I feel can be achieved for the better of our country.

We all make mistakes.

Now let's move on.

You're right about this part that it will turn our country into a communist country. I've read in some based on true story books about the government a long time ago and it talked about our " future " what the government plans. It really upsets me to read big time, because I KNEW that it will definitely happen in the future. I have no doubt about it. I want to say more here, but I don't want to -- because, I don't want ADers to smash me on the head with their baseball bat.

.

Once our rights are bein' taken away, it becomes irreversible. Constitution will become useless and put it away in a hidden place, so that our future children will not read/know them....like it never happens. In schools, they will remove some things that are very important for children to know about our country. They will teach children what their rights are without parents' consent. There are many things that some people don't know. I read one book about schools ( nowdays ) and it horrified me to realize that our future children will turn against their parents' teachings/disciplines by followin' the government. Gee, I feel that they violate the parents' rights to own their children, just because they think that the parents are not good enough to raise/take care of their own children.... since there are too many abuses involved. I think the government is tryin' to save their money by cuttin' some agencies down by takin' over people's places... like if, the government is people's mommy/daddy - no more on their own to take care of.

National security is very important.

As well as our economy.

The sad thing is people actually vote on it like they voted on the" Patriot Act"

Yes, they prefer to be underworked and overpaid.:hmm:

Maybe it is not the system that is the problem, but their basic philosophy of patient care. Business oriented rather than patient oriented. That is peculiar to Western medicine. And something that a change that embraces the ability of all citizens to recieve health care seeks to correct.

Yup, That's sad about many people abuse on capitalism health care and it's not great anymore, unlike in last 10 years ago, time for us to change to improve the medical service and more affordable.

It's just like similar to bank, credit and mortgage, they are on crisis and we could have health crisis in near future.

I vote Republican all the way. However both candidates offer what this country needs. That's why it's still tough for me to pick one. I like the many things Obama can offer but we do need some things McCain is keen on protecting. We need national security and captialism on top of the US Constitution. AND......a lot of domestic TLC. We need to take care of our own needs instead of overseas. Back it down somewhat and do more within the borders.
