Thread after thread I have been reading why one is definitely against the opposing parties

Does anyone have something good to say about the one they want to vote for?


Can one do it without being blindsided with the negative ads or publications?

Now I am seeking for this thread to only express the positive reasons to as why you want to vote for your particular party


No negatives.
Since I have seen a lot of posters complain about the negative ads and post against each other.

So let's just start by just pure opinions. No links of resources. A person can read it and have their own views outside of having to post a link. The view I'm seeking is why you think the one that you will vote for will be best. In your PERSONAL view.



It may be a lame thread. But I am not craving the debate. I'm craving why you personally feel who should run the country.
 
Some of the reasons why I've chosen to vote for Barack Obama:

He has personal experience with poverty and the growing income gap having grown up in Indonesia and working as a community organizer on Chicago's south side.

He graduated from Harvard Magna Cum Laude (and was president of the Harvard Law Review). Instead of becoming a trial lawyer or finding a job in the coporate world, he returned to Chicago to practice civil rights law.

He has the most experience as an elected official and legislator with over 10 years in state and federal public service.

He is the only top Democratic candidate who understands state and federal government as an elected legislator.

He opposed the Iraq war before it started and has a specific plan for withdrawing our troops.

He believes in universal health care.

He has the intellect and charisma to communicate effectively, bring people together, change the status quo and move our country forward.
 
McCain and Obama are both qualified politicians. I understand each others' views and neither one of them is more right than others. Each party has a different priority/style/view on how it should work. It largely depends on current event, trend and especially the country's current state of mind. In my opinion - with this current America's state of mind (crumbling economy, out-of-control spending, 2 failing costly wars, broken systems, etc.)... Obama is best-suited for it. If we were in 2004, I'd vote McCain over Obama and Bush (assuming Palin is not his VP). Right now - McCain's idealism which is largely "Reganism" is unsuitable for America.

I am a registured republican.

And as of now I am not sure.

I want to see why one WANTS to vote for the one

I have been saying in other threads to vote for the lesser evil.

My personal opinion is any politician will tell you what they feel people want to hear, see or read anyhow a person recieves it. VIA mail, media or radio and even attending rallies.

I am open to both sides. I am not too quick to judge knowing both parties will do or say anything to win the elections.

That is why I'm asking of other posters of how they perceive this.

Again please do so with out links or "so called" proof. I just want raw perspective.

well what's the point with links (or raw perspective)? It's in their own sites. Like you said - they just say what people want to hear. You've already seen 3 debates so it's up to you to decide whose view is more suitable to fix this mess.

Please don't be intimidated by others

Express your views. Even after three debates one has time to consider
 
I like Obama because I think he is more connected to the common man. Even though he is Harvard, he did not have a rich privileged background. I think he remembers his roots and is sincere about not having more taxes for the lesser income people.
 
At this point after seeing 3 Presidential Debates on the TV, I'm more of leaning towards Obama. Prior to the Debate, I was not sure who I would be for.

The reasons are -

He may not have much experience on the foreign policy but Biden does.

I may not agree with Obama's partial abortion view but however, I do agree that Rowe v. Wade should not be overturned.

His health care proposed solution is simple but also effective, imo.

Maybe it is just me, but from what I've seen according to both of their body language on these debates, Obama seemed to be composed, kept his cool, and had a level head whereas McCain's body language shows it in a different direction.

To me, A president always should keep his cool no matter what even if the situation is extremely stressful. Understandably, during stress, one would snap, but however, by being temperament, that does not show one bit of a good grain.

All you can do is vote for the candidate who best fits your values, morals, beliefs and convictions. While it is true that both candidates will say anything for a vote, think about the issues that are important to you. Are you concerned about the economy? Healthcare? The war in Iraq? Taxes? Look at each of the 3 debates and what each candidate had to say. Which one addresses the problems you care about most?

McCain has his own priority & approach and Obama has his own priority & approach as well. IMO - Obama's priority is in agreement with my concern and the current state of USA - which is economy and the financial future. McCain's priority is more of National Security and Foreign Policy (which are tied to corporations and fat cats) and I'm disturbed at McCain's aloofness at this serious financial crisis.

AGREED! Barack Obama is more the 21st Century version of Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR and JFK with a bit of MLK tossed in for good measure.
 
I'm a registered independent voter. I will vote for McCain/Palin. My personal opinion is that our national defense is most important. If our nation isn't safe then nothing else (health care, economy, etc.) is possible. Secondly, I don't want the USA to become a Euro-style socialist country. I want it to stay a free capitalist country.

Agreed. Pretty much the same...Obama's values are what I value too.

Free capitalist isn't always work, there's millions of Americans are left uninsured and USA is really not true free capitalism anymore, if you want free capitalism then time for rid of medicare and SS and left you so nothing after retire.

Socialist isn't always bad, it's very different.

Agreed. Gotta respect the opinion of one who supports it with logic and forethought.
 
I believe that we need to be a nation that cares for one another. That it isn't always "The Haves" telling the "Have Nots" "Suck it up. I made it, you need to too". I believe that we should be caring for the sick and the poor, not letting them die from starvation and lack of healthcare when WE HAVE ENOUGH TO GO AROUND!!! We are the wealthiest nation in the world, why are there people starving? Children without clothes? Why are there children in cities that don't have a safe school to go to, or qualified teachers to teach them, while others spend hundreds of thosands every year to send their children to the "best" schools.
I get so tired of Republicans who say this is a "Christian nation". No we aren't. If we were, wouldn't we behave more like Christ did? Wouldn't we cloth the naked and feed the hungry? Did Christ ask how hard someone was looking for a job before he was willing to help? Did he call people "welfare cheats" and "lazy good for nothings" because they needed his help?
While the Republicans call themselves Christians, the democrats live the values. And THAT is why I will vote for Obama.
