If the weather permits, tomorrow I am hosting
a Deaf Chat Coffee at the local coffee shop
in Willamina Oregon. My kids will help bus
tables,(clean up, etc) and we will get the
opportunity to practice our ASL. I hope
the weather permits. I already have one
Deaf friend cancel due to the weather
forcast. Oh well if no one shows, we
will try again next month.:fingersx:

Bummer! The incoming storm kept every one away. Had 3
cancelations. Oh well maybe next month. We did go over
to the casino yesterday and practice our sign with some
Deaf people over there. They were hosting the NW Deaf
Poker tournament. But just as I suspected there were a
lot of moms with kids in tow that were bored while waiting
on spouses to finish gambleing. Had some good sign
conversations with those folks at the deli there. So
was not a total loss. As usual my 7 year old son PJ was
the hit of the party! He is just too cute when he signs,
"Whats Happening?"
 
Success! Even though my back was out and I had to take pain meds to stand for an hour, the Baby ASL class went great! We had 9 Hearing moms with about 15 Hearing kids! It was soooo much fun. I had a blast and they seemed to enjoy it too. I had the older kids in the group come forward and "help" me. They promised to be there and "help" next week too. This was a one hour class and we have 4 more to go. The class focus is on teaching moms how to teach ASL to their babies. Keep wishing me luck!

Post the next kaffeeklatch. I'll try to make it. I was at Grande Ronde last Sunday with my girlfriend, her brother, and his wife. We donated large sums of money to the tribal owners of Spirit Mountain casino.

Will do. I'll go set it up again with the owners and post it. If you were at the casino you were 2 miles from our house as the crow flies. We don't gamble but we do eat at their wonderful buffet. I figure they are loosing money when my family eats there, because it's all you can eat. So we will get back some of what you donated in the future the next time we go there. hahaha

HEY EVERYONE! I need help! One of the moms in my Baby ASL class wants to know the name sign for ELMO! Now I know the name sign for OSCAR and BIG BIRD, but I can't find the name sign for Elmo anywhere! HELP! I told her I'd look it up and get it back to her Tuesday on our next class! I hope someone Knows this! Does anyone know Linda Bove personally and could contact her and ask?:fingersx: Thanks
