U.S. report: 40 million can't afford health care

Heartless America gov't!!!! IMO!!
Therefore no helping American citizen needs a help for coverage Health cost their family love ones. Pretty bad!!!

Espically their work company aren't willing help portion coverage co-workers for funds health cost but company is greedy! Get your own pull up your wallet or purse and pay your own health insurance coverage. That's extreme stupid!

That why American company is selfish and greedy otherwise prefer your own problem paying the hospital fee.

Why can't the company should have investment funds for coverage the health cost for co-workers? Or garnish their pay stub little payments monthly for health coverage cost under insurance company somehow.. ?

Isn't same as Canada system?

Pretty find this quite sad!

Pick your choice - bye bye small business or bye bye health insurance coverage. beside - heartless government? why? what does government has to do health insurance? This is not a socialist country. Your problem is with health insurance company, not government.

because it's very costly. When it's costly, we have to lay off people to pay for health care coverage. Makes you wonder why our economy has always been very powerful in the world.

87 million in U.S. uninsured in past 2 years

Report: Lack of health care more widespread than government estimates

We definitely need "change" in this issue. What government should do is SPANK and SCORN health insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies for making it so damn expensive and to put profits first ahead their well-beings. Nothing more.

I can't afford to get insurance then count me.

After SSI was discontinued, I lost the Medicaid benefit and SSA rep told me to call them or apply for Medicaid, however I don't understand about SS letter said you maybe still quality for Medicaid due my income and will try to work out, single people can apply for Medicaid if earn less than $26,000 per year but probably depends on state.

I have new upgrade health insurance with optometrist. With no cost add. I'm so excite.

I know someone from Ireland who moved the USA several years ago. He says he just hopes that American health care doesn't become like British health care system.

Don´t compare British healthcare with US or EU healthcare system because they are total different.

Somebody from Ireland actually managed to move the USA?

Wow.

Reba made a little oops, so I took the opportunity of making fun of it. Just take another look at what Reba said.

Hmmm, then maybe it means that Ireland's health care system mirrors that of the UK or is under it?

Still didn't get it. Clue: That Irish dude must have been one strong feller to have moved the US.

Did you miss your cup of coffee today? Seems like you're a bit lost there.

Reba said somebody from Ireland moved the USA.

Maybe the joke would had fare better with Lost fans.

No, Irish healthcare system is not same as British healthcare system like what I explained Reba in my previous post that each EU country have different healthcare system.

Isn't that the truth! My meds cost over $1,000/month. (I'm on 8 different meds.) Thank goodness Medicaid covers the cost because if they didn't, I have no idea how I'd be able to continue taking them. I'd probably have to choose one or two meds while sacrificing the others.

You'll have to pardon me, I just gagged there for a second at the costs of meds. I am aware that some people has to pay thousands and thousands on a monthly basis for drugs.

It's just astonishing how costly it can get.

No, just starting on my first cuppa but I see it now.... I don't touch that stuff these days because of the board reaction to ideas put forth by myself, Chase and maybe a few others but in this instance it was a hearing person so that's different, eh? :giggle:

It is not just astonishing, it is criminal. (In the contextual, not literal sense of the word.)

I agree. I shudder at the thought of lower/middle class families having a hard time trying to make ends meet when they have medical bills to pay.

Exactly. Better health does not increase quality of life when one cannot afford basic necessities as a result of the cost of meds.
