Ah, she's massive and what a beauty! How old is she, did you or Reba serve on her?

They are beautiful. Commissioned October 27, 1984.

We did not serve on her. Reba was in the Navy when women were not allowed to serve on ships. I served from 1972 to 1993. I asked for Destroyers and Minesweepers. Smaller crews, access to foreign ports, many times sailing right up rivers or harbors to the pier wall and stepping off right downtown.

Many sailors can request particular type of ships or subs. If you are in an aviation specialty, on shore - naval air station, ship - aircraft carrier or helicopter carrier.
