I'm interested in catching that new series that starts tonight called "Merlin". It looks good. It's been compared to Harry Potter.

Why are people fascinated by animes? I don't understand. Do they have any dialogue in them? Are they similar to cartoons? Sorry, I've never seen animes before, so I have no idea.

I recently discovered classic TV shows online as well as my favorite soaps, so now I've become addicted to watching reruns. :cool2:

Yesterday I watched "Chips" (I know it's cheesy, but I loved it as a child :giggle:) followed by my favorite soap "The Young and the Restless."

Saw new tv show from Showtime called "Nurse Jackie", it's getting interest, it's somewhere similar to House MD, instead it's nurse issues, not doctor situation. That's so bad of this nurse :D

Dr. Who is still on the air? I remember watching that back in the early 80s. :)

Yes in UK :D
But the BBC is only going to be showing four Special Dr Who later in the year this year
Not sure if Dr Who is on air in USA, hopefully it will be soon

What is the show Lie to Me about and what network is it on?

Lie To Me - FOX channel - Monday Jun 22nd 9PM EST - available in hulu as well - link

LIE TO ME, the compelling new drama from the producers of 24, stars Tim Roth ("The Incredible Hulk," "Reservoir Dogs") as DR. CAL LIGHTMAN, the world's leading deception expert who studies facial expressions and involuntary body language to discover not only if someone is lying, but why. When someone shrugs one shoulder, rotates a hand or raises the lower lip, Lightman knows he's lying.

Based on the real-life scientific discoveries of Paul Ekman, the series follows Lightman and his team of deception experts as they assist law enforcement and government agencies to expose the truth behind the lies.

The average person tells three lies in ten minutes of conversation.

DR. CAL LIGHTMAN (Tim Roth, "The Incredible Hulk," "Reservoir Dogs") can detect the truth by analyzing a person's face, body, voice and speech. When someone shrugs his shoulder, rotates his hand or raises his lower lip, Lightman knows he's lying. By analyzing facial expressions, he can read feelings - from hidden resentment to sexual attraction to jealousy. But as Lightman well knows, his scientific ability is both a blessing and a curse in his personal life, where family and friends deceive each other as readily as criminals and strangers do. Lightman is the world's leading deception expert, a scientist who studies facial expressions and involuntary body language to discover not only if you are lying but why.

From writer Samuel Baum ("The Evidence") and the executive producers of 24 and "Arrested Development" comes LIE TO ME, a compelling new drama series inspired by the scientific discoveries of Dr. Paul Ekman, a real-life specialist who can read clues embedded in the human face, body and voice to expose both the truth and lies in criminal investigations.

Lightman heads a team of experts at The Lightman Group who assist federal law enforcement, government agencies and local police with their most difficult cases. DR. GILLIAN FOSTER (Kelli Williams, "The Practice") is a gifted psychologist and Lightman's professional partner who brings balance to the partnership by looking at the bigger picture while Lightman focuses on the details. He needs her guidance and insight into human behavior, whether he knows it or not. ELI LOKER (Brendan Hines, TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES) is Lightman's lead researcher, who is so uncomfortable with the human tendency to lie that he's decided to practice what he calls "radical honesty." He says everything on his mind at all times and often pays the price. RIA TORRES (Monica Raymund, "Law and Order: SVU") is the newest member of the agency, and one of the few "naturals" in the field of deception detection. She has a raw, untrained ability to read people that makes her a force to be reckoned with.

Samuel Baum, Brian Grazer, David Nevins and Steven Maeda serve as executive producers on the series, which is produced by Imagine Television and 20th Century Fox Television. Robert Schwentke directed the pilot.

Jiro,

:ty: for the description. That show sounds very interesting. I'm definitely going to check it out. One thing is for sure. Network TV is quite good right now. :cool2:

Yesterday I watched "Chips" (I know it's cheesy, but I loved it as a child :giggle:)

Im too much in love with CHiP's. I have dvds of both S1 and S2 and I loved watching them again and again since TBS and TNT started running them with CC's.

I cant wait for the rumored CHiPs movie and Im hearing that Wilmer Valderrama (Fez from "That 70s Show") is being cast as Ponch. Can ya imagine Ponch finally getting a woman to his bed in that movie? lol

I got some current tv shows im liking on abc.com, nbc.com, and hulu:

Hell's Kitchen
Kitchen Nightmares
Wipeout
I survived a Japanese Game Show

I was so pissed off when both ABC and NBC canceled Life on Mars and My Own Worst Enemy plus Knight Rider 2008 too. I loved watching these episodes online with CC.

At work last Wed during lunch break I got the tv turned on to Wipeout so I can watch it. After an hour, my coworkers really loved that show. I had to go back to work as "I survived a Japanese Game Show" came on, but I finally caught up on it at abc.com so no worries lol.

I don't know about anybody else, but I prefer to watch...

Discovery Channel
Travel Channel
History Channel

I think those are easily the best channels on television. Science channel is pretty cool too.

I enjoy the following channels on cable:

Discovery Health
The Discovery Channel
TLC
The History Channel
The Food Network
MSNBC

:laugh2:

The day I wrote my post I was watching a rerun of Chips on fancast.com in which Ponch had a woman in his apartment, but one of his partners (I can't remember his name) stopped by to drop something off. I always thought it was amusing how Ponch would get a woman, but never be able to develop it into something more than a date. :giggle:

As for Fez playing the role of Ponch in a Chips movie, hmmm. I think George Lopez would be a better pick.
