Today I got my c.l.

That's great - I'm getting an implant on Feb 8th. Going with the Cochlear N7 in the right ear.

Please keep us informed on how you do, and I'll do the same.
 
Good luck it not so I just made my self relax and only side affect was balence and happin 1 day later lasted for3 day in 1 week 2 days can’t wait for turn on
 
Hang in there it only gets better!
Just over 1 month activated and I am sitting in the car listening to the Doors waiting on the wife.
Life is good.
 
First doc appointment today I feel good good too hear when they turn me on I’m going to plug in music it been forever and to hear human voice I have to stop before the tears of joy come thank you
 
I had mine in December and was turned on 3 weeks ago...I had one adjustment...So far, I am not too impressed with it. But, I am patient and still have at least 2 more adjustments.

I now hear about 1/3 of what people say, depending on their voices...Some people do not speak clearly...Recorded messages that use clear voices I hear great.

But, everything sounds like an echo...Like I am standing in a large empty hall, and people are on the other end...So, I am straining to hear them.

So, if you experience the same, you are not alone...

And we have to give the audioligists the opportunities to tune them properly...(I hope)
 
I just went for my 2nd adjustment...Yes, it is getting better. And I have now tried the blue tooth phone option - Which was OK, but not great (though maybe it needs tweaking).

Your battery problem may be from a noisy environment (?).....I now shut off my air purifier when I am wearing CI. Both to save the CI battery and because the air purifier now sounds like a Mack truck parked next to me.
 
Slowly graduating from witness protection to just strangled.
Bluetooth cell phone is a work in progress. Problems with male voices who mumble..
Batteries last about 14~16 hours unless I stream or I am on the phone a lot.
ALWAYS carry a spare battery on me. :)

I have two air machines in my small apartment. They are LOUD! I have a fan cancellation program on my HA's that works wonders. When I am out and about, I often forget to turn it off.
 
I’m still undecided I have lots of questions .
Why did you have your removed and how long did you have it
Me it bitter sweet so far but I’m hoping it get better it has been pos so far just want it all now haha
 
I am at just over 2 months activated. Had a mapping the other day and the "booth test" said my CI ear hearing went from 34% to 84% on word recognition. Extreamly happy with one on one conversations, all the rest is a work in progress :)
 
I'm at 14 days post-activation with the Nucleus 7 by Cochlear.

Very pleased with it so far - can't be happier, really. I can hear the birds again after 20 years. One-on-one speech rocks, and I'm picking up about 50% without visual cues (15% right out of the box on the first day.) Music sounds better every day. People tell me my voice has improved, but I doubt that after just 2 weeks. My aud is excited at how well I'm doing after two weeks. I'm still wearing my Phonak in my other ear, but it sure feels heavy. Will get it maxed out with a new mold next week so I can keep wearing it at least part-time.

Anybody out thinking of getting a CI - I can honestly say that the N7 is absolutely amazing, despite my large learning curve in speech recognition. On the chart, my rechargeable battery is 24 hours, while the disposable is supposed to give me 60 hours. I wear the No. 3 magnet over light hair, no discomfort. The surgical incision is just about all healed up. No complaints!
 
BTuckerwrites, You mention having a Phonak hearing aid in the non-inplanted ear so I am curious why you went with Cochlear rather than Advanced Bionics?

I was given a choice by the surgeon - I went with the company that's been around the longest and have more specialists. I think I would have been just as happy with the A/B as I am with Cochlear, so I doubt it'd made much difference either way.
