Thrift store shut down for misuse of money

that been happening in my country for sometime

That's why I stopped donating to goodwill, the CEO makes millions and the workers aka peasants barely make enough to live. So nowadays if I have something to donate I list it on craigslist.

Nothing new, they basically have a license to steal. The people who ran most of the Goodwill stores in my area went to prison for income tax evasion. They basically were skimming off the top and not reporting the income, the family behind the racket were all living large. Also the two Majors running the local Salvation Army were caught stealing two Harley's that had been donated to be auctioned off, these two "ministers" forgot to read the Ten Commandments and were exposed when the person who made the donation asked questions about what happened to the bikes? Catholic Charities hasn't had a scandal,,,,YET, so they might be a good place to drop of your stuff.

Wow.

What about local thrift stores? We have one here in town that doesn't seem to have a brand/chain name attached to it, like "Goodwill". It's just called "Thrift Store."

Yeah lot of places like that are greedy. People want to get rid of things they no longer need an donate instead of going to landfill. A lot of businesses like Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc are run under dirty managements.

Maybe another idea is to drop off unwanted clothing to homeless shelter, as they may need them.

Not surprised, some cities in my state keep thrift store out by refusing to issue a business license.

I never shopping at thrift store and they are not my type.

Also, some cities don't welcome auto title, payday loan or cash advance, along with thrift store.

I think the small local thrift stores are fine and not as greedy as the franchise type ones. The one in the town in PA I lived in was nice as far as I remember- never heard anything 'seedy' about them.
