Sickening!!!!

Yet another: Passed 40-8 in Senate. It goes off to the House now, and if it passes, it'll go to Governor Daniels's desk.

I think they ignored the "Nothing About Us Without Us" appeals all across the board. Maybe there was a bit of tokenism thrown in......it's a familiar refrain....

If it is actually passed, I am strongly positive that it will discourage ASL... but whatever.

Whatever bill passes, I'm not interested to live in Indiana, anyway.

Yup, it is sad about future deaf children won't use ASL, unless they are from deaf families.

Doesn't matter; you should still be concerned because this will spread to other States....already has in some form or other....

Wow... I commented on Hear Indiana's Facebook wall, mildly criticizing their tone, which I believed to be a bit overzealous, and followed the criticizing comment with a "no offense."

And now my comment is gone and I appear to be blocked from commenting at all.

If the other mysteriously missing comments are anything like mine, then they're even more biased than I previously thought (and I thought they were pretty biased before).

Wow, just wow.

Yes indeedy. Sadly oralists are super naive about inclusion and mainstreaming. They think that the reason the previous generation of dhh kids did badly is b/c of TC/ASL. They still seem to think that mainstreamed and oral kids will reap all the advantages of the hearing world. It's SO freaking sad....and even when the evidence is right there in front of them, they still yammer on and on about how inclusion is so wonderful and glorious. ...oh and innovative. Don't forget about innovative.

Here's something for you. The Director for Hear Indiana, Naomi Horton is an AVT specialist who has her own AVT business and I am now hearing that she hasn't provided any disclaimer as regards a conflict of interest.

If that isn't enough, she's the one who said, "When kids don't consider themselves deaf, the magic begins".

Ok, I will be concern about this issue.

Spread to other states? like Utah and California?
