Nosebleed!

No shit. I had to go to the doctor to have a pumpkin seed removed from my nose when I was about 3.
I did raisins when I was 4. Doctor had to remove. My brother went along also. He saw me and imitated. Two idiot kids with raisins in their noses.

Best way to stop them was to put a lot of Vaseline on a Q-tip and coat the entire nostril as far back as you can go. Seriously. Bleeding stopped shortly afterwards.

You must watch boxing!

No, I have absolutely no interest in boxing, fighting, or wrestling whatsoever.

I discovered it after my buddy had his deviated septum fixed and the doctor told him to keep vaseline up there to help it heal faster.

I have chronic nosebleeds, as my signature can attest. I get them every spring & fall. I am allergic to tree pollen & crushed leaves what I call leaf dust. My nosebleeds always last longer than 10 minutes & when I do go to the ER they cauterize my nose. Trust me it's not fun.
The last ER doc told me that if I place a small bit of paper towel in my nose it will slow it down. It also will give me a gauge to how bad the nosebleed is.

And yes you are addicted to AD. LOL the last time I had a nosebleed I was here & talking to my bf on YIM with my left hand pressed up to me nose typing furiously with my right. LOL

Maybe you came across very interesting threads and couldnt stop reading them. However, you being addicted to AD? Nope.

Hope you feel better soon! I never had those kinds of nosebleeds but I have seen them happen to my friends.

Probably due to dry weather or something.

I've had sudden nose bleeds a few times before. I was sleeping next to a huge cold window during extremely dry weather. I woke up one morning and my nose started bleeding. :Ohno:

yes that is correct, i have serious too much bleeding!!! serious weather is change affect to bleed! I know!

I had nosebleeds somedays. Weather always be to change. My doctor said nothing what s wrong with my nosebleed.

The weather makes sense, as I'm in a new city in a whole new region now...it's my first fall here.

Happy Kleenex Times. lol

just had a nose bleed today for the first time in a long time.......probs that the north east is getting colder and colder :( *cries*

I used to get 'em all the time for a few years. Moved to another state, they stopped.

I think that's what boxers do

Boy , we had it all wrong when I was kid! My older sister got nose bleeds a lot , she always put her head back! I guess we did this to keep the blood from getting on our cloth or we just did not know better!

just old medical knowledge, ya know?

same thing with CPR. they just issued new version of CPR.

Finally stopped about two hours ago...drove me crazy!!! Never had a nosebleed before and here I was, bleeding all over the place nearly all day. :p

are you on blood thinner medication?

I had a lot of nosebleeds when I was growing up. Cauterized a few times. The best way to help prevent them if it's constant or the weather changes use that Vaseline. When it seems to be the same nostril, you might have opened a bigger area/vein and t needs rest... Don't blow your nose too hard.

Worse case was when I woke the morning after spending about an hour in a las Vegas sportsbook. I was choking on my own blood in the morning and rested the rest of the day... Booooo. Very sensitive to smog too... I'll never live in LA.

How are you feeling by now, deafbajagal? Any better, I hope!

When I lived in Las Vegas, I heard of tourists getting nosebleed the minute they step off the plan to arrive in town. Yikes.

Yup, never lean your head back. I had my nose cauterized when I was younger, it wasn't the funnest thing to ever happen to me. I don't think the reasoning for not tilting your head back is about the blood going to your brain. I recall the reasoning being about not having all the blood go down your throat. You are supposed to pinch your nose at the very end by the opening.

My nose gets really dry easily, so i'll do the vaseline if need be. Calgary was not a fun place for me to visit. I went when I was younger and I wasn't allowed to go anywhere because all my nose did was bleed. Lol earlier this year at Alicia's birthday party my nose wouldn't stop bleeding at the club. yeahhhh
