New F1's engine again.

now I just gotta figure out how to put it in my bike...

Bring back V12's, F1 shouldnt be about how creative engineers can be working around the rules it should be about innovation and pushing the limits of science

Back in 1980's, there were turbocharged V6 engines fitted the F1 cars, in few years later, they changed to V10 engines then changed to V8 engines for years until they switch back to high technology turbocharger V6 engines again. Hey, I didn't see exotic porn of the Renault V6 internal engine parts such as pistons and crankshafts. Disappoint....

also back in 1986 BMW had a 1.5 liter 4 cly turbo charged making 1500 HP!!!
and then turbo was banned....1500 horses you read it right, not the ****tarding 760 ponies -- ask yourself WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING or HAPPENED ?? scared drivers??!
thats UNDER HALF.....bloody hell

I would bet they had reliability problems; what good is it having all that power if it's gonna explode after a few hours of driving?

F1 racing doesn't last a few hours lol
and they have plenty of $$ for new internals

but you might be right then again must look source or article about this particular BMWF1 engine....to see if any indication of as you say reliability issue...My hunch is not that, just fear of some sort , or extremely difficult to drive as narrow powerband? it could be anything

^^ WhAT? DO YOU MEAN SWAP OUT with an '86 motor in it? sure that's sure fire way to win ALL 2014 races - easy.....but they'd KNOW....it sounds Very different, and different torque curves and hence entirely different acceleration, hell the 740 hp now in that new v6 and newer gearbox might actually be faster as the translation of spins would be much more efficient, like wheelspins as minimal , = less wasted power mean greater actual thrust.... i dunno so way im saying the figures of e 1500hp back then might be true but also the translation of HP to speed might be entirely different story with today's F1 cars designs....EVEN just swapping out just the gearboxes might not even work....as it is DESIGNED for a particular job, torque to the ground in the right amount.....would defeat the purpose again.....

Those 1500hp engines were designed to last just for qualifying only so another one for practice and race day (less power too). I would be happy if we went back to the 2004 era with loud engines and high downforce.

I did also notice that the crowd at the 2013 Melbourne GP about 80% had earmuffs but in 2014 under 10% did, F1 being there mainly is about stimulating all the senses not being able to hear the safety car over the F1 cars

I heard the story in Autoweek news. Feel bad for people who bought tickets to watch, and got little music from turbocharged Grand Prix car's exhausts.

If you remove exhaust manifold or headers from motorcycle, rev up to 10K or 14K RPM, what you feel it like? That is what F1 engines (2013) sounds like.....

done it before like ...a long time ago, like a century ago lol
on 2 stroke 400s 200, four stroke 500s 250s LOL

yes yes yes

My motorcycle can go up to 10k and I don't want next door pissed off at me if I remove the exhaust manifold. :laugh2:

1.5L 4 CLY at 1,500 HP? I am sure engine would WORN OUT pretty quick. It's good for drag racing but track racing? Won't happen.

I am not sure about that, that would be one unfair sport since some team has much higher budget compared to others. With exponental technology advancement, some team cant keep up with it giving you very few competitors. Also the drivers skill determines the factor of winning the race.

Imo, the more factors in sport, the more exciting it is. Optimizing the car under rules is considered as innovation of efficiency.
