My Nissan 240sx/Silvia Project.

Hey whats up? Back in 2009, I brought 1995 Nissan 240sx se (USA model) that is known as Nissan Silvia in different countries for $1,500. It was automatic and had 120k miles. It got in a little front end accident that wasn't too serious. The frame was not damaged and the title is still clean. I was driving it for like 3months until I spun the bearing. So I decide that F*uck this, I will just turn it into a project car.

My first KA with AUTO blew up so I was getting ready to do SR20 swap and 5spd conversion. My friend told me that If I do SR20 swap with gt3071 for him, he will give me a free running ka24de with 60k miles on it with 5spd transmission. So I agreed with the deal and went ahead did sr20 swap plus custom wirings in his 95' S14.

SR20 swap went excellect. I got it all done over the weekend for him so I got the ka and 5spd in return. He even hooked me up with stock s14 sr20 T-28 turbo and 370cc injectors. I changed my plans so I went with KA-T route for now. I know that I will do stright 6 swap instead of sr20 in the future after my ka-t is dead lol.
 
Then I started to buy more parts like Origin Stream side skirts, JDM kouki spolier, rear bumper, tein flex, 300zx brake conversion kits, BM short shifter and many more silly parts...

Cool, I never seen this motor in a 200SX before. I know the 2.4L have 8 spark plugs, 4 plugs on intake side and other 4 plugs on exhaust side. Maybe I be wrong? I will google it later. Turbo is a hell monster...:shock:

200sx comes with sr20det engine from the factory in different countries. USA call it 240sx because it comes with ka24de engine from the factory for USA.

8 sparkplugs??? :shock: :laugh2: that would be crazy if 240sx ka24de comes with 8 sparkplugs lol. It comes with 4 spark plugs and goes in the middle of the valvecover/head.

What car/truck did you find 8 sparkplugs with ka24de???
 
another update....

some electrical work for my apexi AVC-R electronic boost controller, AEM digtial boost gauge and few other things like I changed the MAF to 300zx MAF because my stock ka24de MAF maxs out at 260hp. I am pushing 280+hp to the wheel so I need to use 300zx MAF. I got rid of ABS so I had to get rid of abs wires and sensors etc.

Got 18x9.5 +15 MB battles wheels all around. I putted on my old 225/40/18 yosh tires on for front and brand new 255/35/18 of G-Force tires in rear.

Yes, the car was still on jack stands when I fitted the wheels/tires on the car. When I took the car off the jack-stands, the wheel fitments etc looks good.

JDM headlights..What sucks about it is that the light pattern is different. It points opposite side because cars in Japan are RHD. But it looks good during day time. I will borrow a camera that is much clearer to take more pics..
 
Engine is now all done.

Now I have to focus on exterior body work and fix my 300zx brake issues. Then I can bring the car to get tuned and dyno run. Paint-job will be last.

Both car/truck use KA24E engines with 8 plugs and single camshaft. I agree with you that KA24 DE use 4 plugs on the top of the head (2 camshafts). I think the model year for KA24E is mid-1990. That's why I never see KA24DE engine in a 240 SX. I maybe check emission book someday.
 
I checked the emission book, the engine size/emission applications doesn't reveals KA24E and KA24DE. All early 2.4L for Calif and Federal (49th state) emission, still have EGR valves. I last smogged a Nissan 240SX (I can't recall model year) in 2000, haven't seen them around.
