I see there's a sticky for books pertaining to Deaf culture, but nothing about movies. Which comes to me as a surprise.

Could we get this thread sticky'd and if people are willing to share what movies are out about the Deaf culture? I personally don't know, and I'm curious.

yeah, that would be great. I've only seen one deaf person on tv...and it was West Wing. Oh, wait, Jane Austen's brother on Becoming Jane. That's all I know.

I was wondering that myself yesterday.

I personally own 'Children of a Lesser God' and 'Sweet Nothing in My Ear' as well as 'Gerald' and 'Ledgend of the Mountain Man' which are both ASLFilms. There have been episodes of the various CSIs and Law and Order and House with Deaf charectars. Marlee Matlin did a couple years on The L Word and was on Dancing with the Stars and and is currently on Celebrity Apprentice. The movie Hamill will be out in theatres soon and See What I'm Saying was just released on DVD.
