I am in hopes of starting an Advocacy Center for the Deaf/ HOH in the Val Verde/ Tom Green region in SW Texas in about a yr if possible. Anyone in the area who has experience in this field, wants to be a contributor, or knows of someone who is please email me. It will take a combined effort of individuals, agencies, and educated compassionate persons with experience of disabilities and technologies and ADA issues to get this project off of the ground.
I am currently in Washington State trying to gain more experience in the Social Services field in order to better assist future clients. Anyone who has extensive knowledge in how to get a project as this up and running and is willing to assist will be considered an asset.

How is this all panning out?
Im a creative marketing specialist covering a decent spectrum ranging from web design to graphic design, video fx (chromakey for brodcast), dvd authoring, photography and so on.
Id love to talk.

well so far its goin slow... like a snail! lol i just started a local deaf coffee house with nan's help whos also here on alldeaf. right now im getting that goin. what id really love to do is start up like a resource center for the deaf and disabled more than anything. a place people can come to to find out local and state and federal assistance programs and contact info, ent specialist, ci info, ha info, tuition waivers....

stuff like that. problem is that i have no funding and have never done anything like this before and state funding for a not for profit org is such an incredible long hard drawn out ordeal for me. i gues what im really needing most at this point is some kind of idea or contacts to try and get something like that off the ground. im in the very beginning stage of it. theres just so much that i want to offer, something kind of original, even like some support group/culture education/awareness even too.

i guess i just need some contacts who can tell me how to go about making this happen...
