I have been with Alltel a long time and the biggest
problem has been that the only phones they had
with full keyboards also had pricey Internet packages
that came with them.

I am hearing so I need the phone mostly for
voice messages but I also need to talk to my
daughter and she's deaf. They finally came out with
this one and not only is it cheap but I didn't have
to buy any special packages with it.

I bought 2, one for myself and one for her twin sister
who is hearing. The phone I have been using was a
Verizon phone that worked on the same network that
alltel does so I was able to use it but anytime I had a
problem with it I had to find a independent store to fix it.

Looks nice! I like how you can flip it open and do instant messenging and send text messages using phone's built-in keyboard.
 
I don't think Alltel has any data only plans but you can ask
 
Virgin Mobile also sell one: Linky.

I cannot comment since I have not personally seen the actual product.
