Protecting your child's skin from the harsh rays of the sun. Exposure to sunlight is the most widely known risk factor for melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer...For babies under six months of age, sunscreen may be used on small areas of the body such as the face and the back of the hands if adequate clothing and shade are not available...It's Important for Kids have SunScreen so they would not get Burn from the Sun

Today I was at the Store I saw this Child Who looks like around 8 or 9 Had a real bad sunburn on his face, shoulders and legs and He could not barley Walk. It's dangerous. :(

Do you Protect your Kids and Babies from Sun with SunScreen Lotion?

Oh yes I do, can't leave home without the sunscreen block for children!

I notice that some children do have sunburn and some of them do look bad! :(

As you know some doctors recommended not to put sunscreen cream on babies under 6 months old of age. Just don't take babies with under 6 months old of age outside. I am not sure why but i believe that babies's skins are very sensitive and would react to some sunscreen cream. I did ask my doctor about it and she suggested me not to take my son outside during summer time last year when he was under 6 months of age. Just put him under the tree and find a shadow where sun is not directly to him.

Anyway, My son is over 6 months old of age now. I DO put some lotion on my son as well as my daughter whos 3 years old too. My daughter is nuts about going outside. I agree with you that i have seen kids with sunburns. Poor them!!

Yes, I use special children sunblock lotion & make my children to wear "American Style" cap to cover their head.

I use special sunblock on my children since they were babies. I do is protect them from sun...

My sons are fed up because I alway cream them with sunblock before they go out... ;) They will know why I take care of their skin... I had to admit that I´m over processive over their skin sometimes when the sun comes... ;)

Yeah, take me and my bf for example. I am pale and fair-skinned. I went to the desert for the weekend (Memorial Day) for 4 days, and 3 days I used sunblock and walked outside all day. I didn't get sunburnt much at all. Then one day, I thought since I was going to be in the car most of the day, I wouldn't need to use sunblock. BIG MISTAKE. I got sunburnt in some places, and my nose doesnt look good now.

On the other hand, my bf is from Vietnam and he is very tan now. He makes me sick, LOL.

I agree that kids should be supervised when going out in the sun. I've heard of cases where mothers will negelect to care for their kids at the beach. The kids end up getting burned and the mothers get arrested for child endangerment.

There are some races that don't sunburn easily or at all. There are some races that sunburn differently as well.

You're right about that. Native Indians are one of them. They are known to live and work in the sun all day without getting severely sunburned. They don't even grow beards either!

Yes, I put sunblock lotion on my boys one hour before they go out in the sun. They usually go out in the evenings when the sun is almost down. :thumb:

One time, my sister in law got my second son sunburned so bad, I freaked out when I saw him. I did not like it at all and she thought it was funny. :squint: She is a mom of two teenagers.
