How to meet local hoh and deaf?

I am hearing and recently began my study of sign language. It just feels so empty though because I cannot find anybody to communicate with me. The college here (Oklahoma State) does not offer a terp degree nor any ASL classes. And I can't exactly post a note up on a bulletin board saying "call me!". What can I do?
 
u can try deaf events or look for a deaf VR counselor in your state.
 
contact your local state comission for the deaf and hard of hearing, or your state's branch of NAD....there are sometimes local dhh social service agencies.
 
Look on the web for some deaf events.

Look on internet for local deaf clubs or a deaf organizations in your local area, to see where the deaf and hoh go.
Or another way you can meet the deaf and hoh is to volunteer at this places.
Also contact local communtiy colleges,and ask if they have any deaf or hoh students there.
