You may know about deaf sports competitors from international events such as the Deaflympics, but a few standout athletes have performed head-to-head with hearing competitors and triumphed. Here, we’ve gathered their amazing stories.

I love watching the Olympics and I checked to see if there are any Deaf competing. I couldn't find any for the one coming up later this month. Why??? You don't need hearing to be a swimmer, a runner and lots of other sports. I'd love to see a Deaf medalist or even just a competitor.

Jackie Chan is deaf if you consider him an Olympic Athlete. He does sponsor the Deaf Olympics in the Asias though.
