I'm a deaf person who doesn't know anyone else who is deaf. I would like to be friends with deaf people as I want to get more acquaintanced with the condition itself. Does any of you want to be friends? Also, are there any Muslims on here who are deaf? Wanna be friends?

Good morning and Merry Christmas to you all, I live in Margate Florida and I'm been here for 18 years less one year in Pittsburgh Pa,, i was going to stay permanently in Pittsburgh but unfortunately I got sick with an infection on my right foot so I had to have my five toes amputated so now I have a 3/4 right foot, I'm infection free thank God, I was living in Hollywood Florida owned my Condo so I sold it and bought a condo on Pittsburgh band then after the amputated toes I re sold the condo in Pittsburgh and for return back to south Florida I bought a very nice condo in the city of Margate FL., Margate is about 20 minutes west of Pompano beach and Ft
Lauderdale. It's a nice 55+ community and everything is very close. Anyway if any of you out there are interested in relocating to the Pittsburgh area the cost of living is inexpensive for those on limited income and it's an awesome city the ground transportation is awesome too.
The two Deaf friendly association's are called the Pittsburgh association for the Deaf in Allegheny county and the other is called the Westmoreland association for the Feaf in Westmoreland county, both association's have all sorts of activities for the very young people and for seniors too, check there websites you'll be amazed how there so involved with the community.
At this time I'm 59 , but hopefully I will relocate to Pittsburgh in the near future. Well it's been awesome chatting with you all, and you'll be hearing from me again soon, so may all of you have a very safe Christmas ⛄❄️ ❄️ holiday,

Hi Queenl Happy New year to you if you celebrate the new year,. Well first let me say how proud I am of you to join this group, since I'm not Muslim I don't know your generic customs within our American society. I do understand that within your culture and religion that the American society must respect it, so as a suggestion you should reach out in your community to your neighborhood leaders to assist you in organizing a Deaf social club and it should be open to all. Just remember that your culture is specific with your genders male and female so the average American Deaf person who does not understand your culture will have difficulties not hard just a matter of comprehension, just take in all that you can to also teach the Deaf community in your area and beyond the beauty of your culture if allowed in. You may go on the internet and type in Deaf clubs in your city and state and you will see many different web sites and just click on them to find the right one to go to and to make friendships and interact with the community. Also ask your audiologist usually they may have information on societies in your hometown or the receptionist. Well I've said a lot and I hope that I've been able to answer your questions if it's been of help. Good luck on these endeavors.
Take care and be safe......

Thank you so much, I really appreciate the time taken to write the post and your advices. I have been deaf since birth but I have never tried to find more about my condition, how others manage with it etc. So yes, I surely will do what you have suggested.

Thanks once again. :)

Hi Queenl good afternoon how are you doing today, I see that you read my post and I hope that you will be able to take up as one of my suggestions, keep in the loop of the Societies that you register / sign up for, also put up a Memorandum (Notice) at your community center, Mosque Bulletin board with a Phone #, email, twitter & Facebook page these are great ways to start group associates. They usually start out small and don't get discouraged just keep after it, and before you know it you'll have a social gatherings going on set up with snack's and refreshments usually Friday or Saturday afternoons are best. So Queenl take care and enjoy the ride you'll be amazed of what you've started.
