Dark days of despair
The world living not our hopes but our worst fears
Our hearts bleeding not blood, but tears
The smell of death lingers in the air
We are now living in dark days of despair
The sky turned black as the villages burn
Fathers took away to never return
Evicted from the place they once called home
All they had left was suffering, and to suffer all alone.
Just as we thought we had stemmed the tide
Out rears the ugly head of genocide
The starved child gasps for his final breath
His last smile saved for the comfort of death
All the faith I had now gone, expired
My mind distraught, my body tired
I lay awake at night, asking myself why???
How can this happen as we sit idly by!!!
