I took my three youngest children to observe a college level
ASL 1 class. They sat and paid attention, even when the
instructor was demonstrating the use of eyebrows in ASL
grammar.
Today I took my youngest with me on errands, (he is 7) and
we were waiting in a restaurant while a prescription was
filled and he was watching a "Judge Judy" episode but with
no volume on. He said, "Mom look! Judge Judy has her eye
brows down! Now that guy can't use yes or no in his answer!
He has to say who or what or where or why! He's got to,
cause that's the rule!"
I said, "Well honey, Judge Judy is hearing and the rules are
different with English then they are with ASL."
He thought about that a moment and said, "Well I think
it means she doesn't beleive him!"
