Me too.. But dang Ben and Jerrys can be a bit expensive at times.

Yes, it can, but it is one of my weaknesses. I dearly love me some Ben and Jerry's. A Ben and Jerry's ice cream shop just opened up about 3 miles from me. I have to stop myself from going in there 3 or 4 times a day!:giggle:

My current fav flavor is Americone Dream. What's yours?

That is so coincidental! They are my favorite colors, as well. They have always been colors I can wear with my red hair! Purple is first, green is second with me.

I actually know people that get laundry out of the dryer immediately. I personally think there is a bit of obsessiveness in that behavior. *smile*

I came from an all-red-headed family...(I was the only blonde out of 6)...and my parents were red-headed also..... one of my sisters wears purple almost every day...I do like Lavender and soft shades of purple also.....Remembering that poem "When I grow Old, I Shall Wear Purple".

I just GOTTA post this. Have you ever read T. S. Eliot's poem, The Love Song of J. Alphred Prufock? The last lines go:

I grow old...I grow old...
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.

Shall I part my hair behind? Do I dare to eat a peach?
I shall wear white flannel trousers, and walk upon the beach.
I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each.

I do not think that they will sing to me.

I have seen them riding seaward on the waves
Combing the white hairs of the waves blown back
When the wind blows the water white and black.

We have lingered in the chambers of the sea
By sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown
Till human voices wake us, and we drown.

There, got THAT image out of my head. :giggle:

I will only buy ice cream in pint containers because it is a given that I will eat it all in one sitting. :lol:

Ha! I actually just had a small bowl of vanilla ice cream with fresh blueberries, raspberries and strawberries (all that fruit talk in the Party thread) and that was the first time I've had ice cream in probably well over a year. I would barf if I ate a whole container. :shock:

Apparently, the reference to wearing his trousers rolled alludes to soliciting prostitution. At the time it was written, men would go down to the beach (not sure which beach. Somewhere in England I imagine) and roll up the bottoms of their trousers. That's how the prostitutes knew which men wanted services . . .

Prufrock is a very difficult poem, but I do enjoy T.S. Eliot. I like this couplet from Prufrock:

"In the room the women come and go
talking of Michelangelo"

I think the title of one of PD Jame's book was The skull beneath the skin which a reference to one of TS Elliot's poems.
Whispers of Immortality

Webster was much possessed by death
And saw the skull beneath the skin;
And breastless creatures under ground
Leaned backward with a lipless grin.
Daffodil bulbs instead of balls
Stared from the sockets of the eyes!
He knew that thought clings round dead limbs
Tightening its lusts and luxuries.
Donne, I suppose, was such another
Who found no substitute for sense;
To seize and clutch and penetrate,
Expert beyond experience,
He knew the anguish of the marrow
The ague of the skeleton;
No contact possible to flesh
Allayed the fever of the bone.

Grishkin is nice: her
Russian eye is underlined for emphasis;
Uncorseted, her friendly bust
Gives promise of pneumatic bliss.
The couched Brazilian jaguar
Compels the scampering marmoset
With subtle effluence of cat;
Grishkin has a maisonette;
The sleek Brazilian jaguar
Does not in its arboreal gloom
Distil so rank a feline smell
As Grishkin in a drawing-room.
And even the Abstract Entities
Circumambulate her charm;
But our lot crawls between dry ribs
To keep our metaphysics warm.
