Just curious what people do for a living. I've done a little google research and read about how the government used to hire a lot of deaf people but not so much anymore.

I have a moderate hearing loss due to (LVAS), just lost more hearing due to a bike accident this morning so I may be more than moderate now...

I'm a 29 year old mechanical engineer, just resigned Tuesday and starting a new position Monday. New hearing loss puts me in an interesting situation. While engineers are known for being introverts verbal communication is still very important.

Given my condition my hearing is likely to digress over time, so I'm curious to know how others make a living and provide for their families.

If there is another similar threads feel free to redirect me, I've seen similar type threads on other forums (recreational forums) so I hope this appropriate as does relate to hearing loss and life.
