One of the reasons Deaf people sound deaf even though they have a CI is because they cannot pick up the subtle inflections hearing people do that tend to use the voice tone to minimize &quot;you might die from taking this medication&quot; while maximizing &quot;You might get some small benefit from taking this medication.&quot; Fortunately some cultures believe that blaming the victim is appalling. I do believe your comparison of CI salesmen to Hamburger salesmen does have merit though.</blockquote>
