I readed everything about Hawaii and learning about this state at school too. I just asked u if u will rather to live in Hawaii? :)

Nooo I wouldn't want to live there at any rate! I'd just go crazy if I'm far from everything! Everything down there is very expensive!

Hawaii has MANY deaf people living there? I find that hard to believe. No doubt there is more deaf people living in the Honolulu metropolitan area than anywhere else in Hawaii.

I lived in Hawai'i once (Oahu)... I'd love to live there again. I know a few others living in the Big Island. I would love to hear their input on living in Hawai'i, since their experiences are more recent than mine...

Brian, there are ways of saving money in Hawai'i. Recycling, buying frozen juice cans (add water), coupons, Costco, etc etc. Safeway rocks. At least it did in my time when I was living in Hawaii. And there's the quality of living there... heh heh, beaches, culture, food, hiking spots, etc... yep, I would live there again if given the opportunity. Norway is wayyyy more expensive than Hawaii. Nope, I wouldn't mind at all. :) Now I'm waiting when my sister decides to get married.. then it's a reason to visit Hawai'i.

Yes.. most are homebodies as far as I know. I know of some living in Kailua, Kaneohe, etc.. it's a matter of knowing deaf people there, I suppose? Oh, they are having a deaf festival this summer I believe... the last time I was there, so many people came (Aug 1997?). I know some from my time at a mainstreaming school (in Kailua), and at the deaf school. Mostly the mainstreaming school.

I vote No, I rather to stay in Europe.

I would love to visit Hawaii for vacation some days but not permantly. :)

Good opinion. Hawaii is just give expensive to tourist and normal/cheap for resident. Only gas price and food price from some place are expensive.

I think I would eventually (maybe a year) feel island-bound and that's a negative, lol.

I was there for 5 glorious week, being beach bum! Man! It was awesome down there. I know about the cost of living down there. It isn't too bad as you might think. If you want fruits to eat down there. They are dirty cheap, of course gas might be expensive but you won't be driving alot like up here on mainland. Since the weather is AWESOME, you don't really need heating or cooling to spend on, comparing to heating bills I am paying up here. So overall, its just little more expensive than here... But so what? The weather, environment... I can't explain! they just perfect, the water in ocean temperature, unbelieveable nice! Beautiful blue ocean!

Real estate in LA is more expensive than Honolulu, I'm not suprised that Miami is little more expensive than Honolulu.

I can imagine Hawaii is a very beautiful island and I don't mind to visit there for vacation...but, to live in there - the answer is no.
