any word on bone conduction

BAHA (bone anchored hearing aids, which uses bone conduction) has been going on for years. but I don't know if that'll be of much help for you if the CI didn't work out.

I don't think that works if the CI fails. The installation of a CI destroys a large part of the hearing apparatus in the inner ear. BAHA (bone anchored hearing aids) still rely on those hearing bones and anatomy being intact. I think once a CI fails there is no option on that ear any longer. I think the only option would be to try another CI. And I don't even know if that's possible.

If you have sensorineural hearing loss, a bone conduction HA like a BAHA won't do you much good.
