WASHINGTON - Thanks to some crafty counterfeiters, the $5 bill is headed back to the drawing board.

The federal government was going to stay with the design and just change the look of the bigger bills. But apparently people are bleaching the ink off $5 bills and printing fake $100 bills on the paper.

The head of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing said it's crucial to stay ahead of any threats, because once people lose trust in currency, you can't regain it.

The new colors and other design changes haven't been decided, though President Lincoln is staying put.

As for $1 bills, Congress passed a law that prevents them from being changed.
