Sexual Abuse of Deaf Students in Schools...

my deaf niece was lucky!
I taught her at an early age about defensive martial arts.
she never had to use it until she was a jr in high school!
incident that happened! we were working at the fairgrounds getting ready for the races.
she went to my truck for her books and some jerk grabbed her from behind.
It was over in an instant. and she left him out cold for the security team to pick up.
she had a bruise on her neck and bruised Knuckles but he looked like a train had hit him.

there is no excuse for molestation you cant call it a sickness no matter what others say!
molestation like many other crimes is a matter of choice!
You don't need to commit a crime, but you want to and that what you choose

Yes all I want to do is help teach kids and want them to learn. I have no problem reporting people who are harming kids and if I realize I have to skip admin and go straight to the police, I won't hesitate doing so. I care about kids and they need someone to trust and that means being the only teacher that is doing that job, I will do it. I won't be a teacher to make friends, I will be a teacher to teach and encourage the youth.

I would want you to think that if you are good, as in not harboring any evil then the Kids will love to have you in that School or wherever. If working there fulfills you then go for it. Children have a way of bonding with people who are good for them and know right away that someone is NOT good or worse evil intent. They will behave properly given encouragement to think for themselves and if necessary stand up to it.

There is a possibility that if you were a Staff Person or a formal Position within a State Government Insitution somewhere and one co-worker is caught by you or known with evidence to commit serious felony crimes, then you will be faced with the situation of reporting that problem to higher ups properly and document everything. If they investigate and find that yes there is a BIG problem with so and so it will be taken care of per policy and laws. Now if your bosses were also evil and could care less that offenses were being done and crimes committed... well that will be your tip to consider getting OUT of there before you are ensnared in some way. And still remains the problem of exposing that problem to the State or to the Federal Government (Atty General or the OIG)

Good luck to you. I like to think that when you are working with children and see them learn, evolve and enjoy what you have to offer them you will be very satisfied with your work. When I was very young as a student I remember clearly certain staffers who were really good with us and were beloved. There were many that way. That would be a blessing.

rape along with domestic violence is problematic for deaf or hearing: women need to stand up to the perpetrator however the reason that they cannot is often due to the fact that they fear that they will not be believed. And this happens in all cultures & religions, I say women but it can and does happen to men & what ever sexuality you have. the reason is normally that the victim has experienced being vilified throughout there life by not just stranger(s) but also in the home. Plus its such a sensitive & personal issue. As an example most rapes like D.V happen when the victim is aware of the perpetrator(s), in the home or a friend of a friend. They have close contact with them. Plus the reports of different cases are becoming highlighted as the police are taking these cases more seriously?, besides this a deaf person has to have the support from a good community /family as trust is a wired thing and the normalization of someone violating you is complex....especially when a deaf or hoh person has always been treated like they have no feelings or tights...
