well I am a hearing parent of a hoh child and I am learning ASL and think it is easier to pick up on and learn when around someone who is using ASL so in my opinion it is an excuse.

well we weren't married, but it is hard but best for me and my girls....I was a single mom to my oldest and she is great I know I can do it again

my daughter will be 1 on the 20th...I just took the bottle and pacifier away gave her a sipppy cup instead...and my older never took pacifier....hmm I would agree with making it her responsibility, or have her replace it with a big girl item..

Hi Krissy, Well I think the dr's could be wrong. I am hearing and have a hearing almost 17yr old daughter and a 10 month old hoh daughter. She has a progressive hearing loss. I am taking ASL classes and she is in classes also. We teach her sign by showing her something and doing the sign along...

This is exactly what I don't want my daughter to go through. We learn everyday people are just outright mean. She is only 10 months and already get negative remarks and looks when she is wearing her hearing aids. Sorry you had to go through this....

our vistit was great. Rhyanne went to a play group and I did a parent workshop. Very informative, a bit overwhelming but great. They had us playing games that they play with the kids. Was hard for me as a hearing person but worked my way through. CSDF is a very open and friendly school. Everyone...
