    What are you reading now?

I had read very little on books in the last few years and to get me back into the habit, had taken up the Goodreads Challenge for reading. I'm aiming to read 30 books this year! The first book to read will probably be 'Whisper' by Chrissie Keighery, a story of a teenage girl becoming deaf and...

    What type and what genre?

I write gritty Crime Thrillers and have 3 published books to my name to date with a forthcoming new book on the horizon! My 2nd book can also be classified as Sci-Fi as it's set in the future. JCruz, I can understand that a severe shortage of finances has hampered your efforts with the Sci-Fi...

    Question for writers! (or readers)

I don't know if this will be of any help but there is a book called 'Whispers' by Chrissie Keighery that is about a teenage girl who became deaf and her journey to join the world of deaf culture. The book received good reviews and the author acknowledged the help from a deaf college. It may...

Came across one of my old undated writings.

Interesting descriptive piece and you kept one of writing golden rules - never throw away any of your creative works as it may become useful at a future period in time. Ideas can be re-worked or your writing knowledge/skills improves over the years! How had your writing career been? The first...

Does anyone have any New Year resolutions ?

Fingers Crossed for 2015 on resolutions! As a deaf author, my writing output had suffered over the last few years with no new book release for over two years! That had been due to being back into a main job, working for an employer that took up a lot of my time. My resolutions for 2015 is...

    U.S trip 2015

I'm also visiting the USA in 2015 for a long overdue vacation, after a great experience with the Deaf Freedom Cruise in 2007. I'm going to Pittsburgh in April as I'll be taking in the DeafNation Expo as an exhibitor to sell copies of my books and if all goes well, look to be visiting the USA...

    My Creative Outlet: Writing!

My apology if Aquablue is NOT deaf as I just assumed so from what I read. All wannabe writers deserve credit, especially those who have a disability to overcome as being a published author is achievable with hard work!

Stick with your own kind? or Mix it up!

An interesting thread to be read but I like to tackle it from a deaf point of view! I'm 70% deaf from birth with some hearing so being a hearing aid user - I'm between the deaf and hearing world. On the dating front, I'm in a Catch 22 situation as I found that deaf women in the UK generally...

    My Creative Outlet: Writing!

Well done Aquablue on pursuing an interest to become a published deaf author. It's hard work as it took me 8 years from doing two Creative Writing coures (attaining qualifications) to being a published deaf author. As long as you have belief in your writing ability and have a way with words...
