That is actually how I found my girlfriend on PlentyofFish. She's hearing and I'm deaf but she understands deaf culture and knows sign language.... Not fluently but enough to make life easier for me lol. 3 years strong as of May 3rd :D

I'll be getting my first CI in February *happy dance*
I will never understand why a hearing aid is never really covered and a CI usually is... other than it being a medical procedure, but aside from that I don't get it. Counting my lucky stars though!
I do agree though that a CI is NOT a cure...
The only chat room I have found for a more sincere mature group online is from here: http://myhearingloss.org/
The only problem is it is only up on certain days and you must have an updated Java plugin for the chat to work.
Those of you who have sleep apnea, I was wondering if you had to bring your CPAP machine to surgery.

Depending on the person's age they get one or two vaccines. This whole process was very quick, Nov To Feb!

It was actually less intimidating than I expected it to be, but the psychiatrist was letting me read questions from her computer and I would answer them out loud as she typed up my answers. It was just to make sure I was stable and had realistic expectations on the CI.
By the way, surgery day...
I go in for surgery Feb 6th!!!! So freaking excited!!! I decided to go with Advanced Bionics :) They will do the worse side and I got a surgeon that has awesome reviews from my peers! so happy!
*clears throat* sorry, had to share :giggle:
I know on the show "How It's Made" hearing aids are sjown, but what about the cochlear implant? That would be cool to watch (how they make the processor and implant).
