    Alarm clock survey

Hello everyone! I am working on a project at school and need some input from the deaf community on the alarm clocks that deaf and HoH use to wake up in the morning. Simply put, we are creating Alarmify which is a smart shaking alarm that connects wireless to your smartphone. I would be...

If I wear my CI, is it okay to go through security checkpoint at airport?

I avoid the walk through detectors because I am worried if it can damage my implant. That was what we were told when i was a kid, but i am sure its okay now-a-days with new technology. But I still go for the TSA pat down just to be safe.

Have you ever tried to wear CI or HA when you are sleeping in bed?

I was sleeping in a bunk bed which just lifted maybe 4 feet and was able to find it later that day on the floor... I guess i didnt look well enough for the processor in the morning. But i would believe that my experience is why people dont sleep with processor on lol

    Cochlear device and exhaustion??

Usually stays with the person for life, but you can always train yourself, workout and your balance will improve. There a joke that goes around the deaf community, when you ask someone if they have a deaf child, will you implant the baby, and sometimes they'd say no because they don't want...

    Cochlear device and exhaustion??

Adding on 2nd implant for me really disturbed my balance lol. But you get used to it, only downside is that you can't walk straight as if youre doing the drunk test, or you can't stand on one leg straight (these are usually the results from what I have seen among 2 implant users)

    Cochlear device and exhaustion??

I think it just has to do with the brain just not used to processing the information that the processor creates. The brain does work "harder" when you have the implants on since its trying to make sense of the processed information. So therefore, when you put on the processor, the brain is using...

    Which CI is the best?

Lol, No. Don't get the Neptune, my good friend has one and I feel so bad for him. It's such an annoying processor. Its a downgrade from the BTE. Its either the Harmony or the N5. If you want to be really safe and have a water resistance processor N5, but if you want a really good sound quality...
