Hello,

I have a question and who knows about wireless.

I don't know if anyone have done with wireless in past that kind of problem to deal until the windows xp has updating the bug (S2).

Today, it is improve to using wireless?? Want hear your option.
:gossip: :smash:

Good question! I seems to get stuck with wired networking. I do know ALOT about wired networking. My house is already wired, and never thought of going wireless for good reason... Security! From my understand, if not done properly anyone near your house could, and probably will use your internet gateway to crack into something or drop spam and screw up your account with ISP. Meaning ISP would think your spammer instead and block you out. Or even worse, drop dangerous virus though your wireless network and all of your computers may be infected. Anyway, I know soon or later I would be forced to learn these wireless.

In the past, I used to have wired all over the house but it seem enough for me use wireless.

I have person who is prefered stay with wired. I guess it just a old fashion or bitter against the wireless of what person try to success with wireless.

If you are conside to get one of wireless, which product you were thinking about?

You can use wireless with firewall such as Netgear 108 Mbps Cable/DSL Router with Firewall. You can enabled the sercurity and password to prevent from your neighbours who trying to crack or screw up your ISP.

I know that, but plm is... ARE YOU 100% sure your protected? I don't think so.

Nothing is 100 percent b ut using WEP or WPA, not broadcasting the SSID, changing the default SSID, using MAC address filtering, and other methods do a reasonable job for most homes.

It only protects your PC, but not your networking! If you know how to set it up correctly, then should be fine. But again are you sure you know that you have set it correctly? One wrong setting can expose your internet gateway to anyone, and not even realize that. That is my concern, with wireless you can NOT see the connections between the router or access point and your computer. With wired networking I can see the cable, and that it does not go outside of my property to let somebody steal my connections for any illegal activity.
