Which kind of hearing aid is the best, and why or why not?

In other words, which of these (if you wear hearing aids) helps you the most? Has any audiologists or hearing aid dispensers told you that digitals won't work for your kind of hearing loss (for the severe to profound range)? Any other opinions like which ones breaks the most and need to be fixed alot, etc.?

1. Analogs
2. Programmables
3. Digitals.

i don't wear hearing aids.
I am thinking of getting new hearing aids after June 2006.

Although I now have a CI, I've always benefitted the most from analog hearing aids. Digital HAs were never strong enough for my loss (severe-profound) and did not help me understand speech. When I tried using digital aids, I always had problems with moisture causing them to work intermittantly. My digital HAs have been sent in for repair several times compared to my analogs which haven't required a single repair, are now 15 years old and still going strong. For me, the choice is analogs hands down. :)
