anyone who is close to you on a basic daily. one day all of a sudden, this person shutted down and end the relationship with you as a friendship. Also, this person decide not to continue to talk to you anymore. they won't give you reasons why they wanted to end it with you. It leaves you plenty of mystery unanswers.

is it possible if this person could not deal with how to talk to you?
or this person happen to have problem themselve and ignore you?

many questions leave in your ponder with how did it happen like all of a sudden?

Hmm there must be a reason why this person wants to discontinue your relationship. Think hard there must be something he/she wasn't happy with ot maybe people change and want different things in life. But hey the only way you can know is to ask the person.
 
It is possible that this person has no idea how to "break" the news out to you out of respect for not hurting your feelings? Perhaps, that person has a lot of things that are going on in his/her life that does not want to be talked about and does not want to share it with you.

Either way, I'd just suggest you to give that person some breathing space and let them be. When they are ready to talk to you, All you can do is "hear" them out and try to understand where they are coming from, at least.
