When you first learned to sign were you nervous and scared? I know my situation is not the same as yours. I lost my hearing when I was 18. Now I'm 20. I'm just learning to sign and accept my deafness. My parents and brother took ASL classes when they found out I lost my hearing. It was me with all my issues that didn't want any part of it. Since I've started to sign with my family I'm much happier. I feel connected again. I do have a lot of anxiety still but it is getting better.
