Warning about credit cards

i agree with u there....

i'm glad i'm getting tax refunds to pay off my credit card for good!... other than that sometimes i get the offer from new credit card company that they accept balance tranfer at APR 0% for 1 year... i do this too in order to pay off faster :D.. but u'll have to be wise not to spend on 2 credit cards.. be wise and call old credit card to cancel or never use it again!
 
Credit cards can ruin your life. If you have too many cards and can't keep up with purchases along with the finance charges, it can get you into a big bind. It is always best to pay your bills in full or don't charge if you can't pay it. :mrgreen:
 
I never trust credit cards. Cash is the best...more safer this way. :)
 
That is why, I am using debit card. I taught my two sons to not using their credit cards unless it is REALLY emergency. I took one of son with me to see finance consulant. He learned alot about investment, credit card, etc... He realized what I went through debts for several years.

Best one card instead of several cards due to increase % is really hurtful your debts !

I almost pay off my debts from first marriage. I can't wait to be normal budget.

I faught with Providian to reduce increase from 22% to 16.5%.
 
I have credit card but only use it as an emergency. But I only have 1 credit card also I dont want to get any more increase line if credit. For example if you got 500 dollars limit then they increase it to 1,000 dollars. I wouldnt go for it. It will make it harder for you to pay the payment off. Yea I received more in the mail and I shuddered thru my machine that way no one can steal my account number and use it. :P
 
Cons, but CC have pros too

Hey You all are right about danger of CC, you could fall into trap with CC. I usually pay off each month no problem. There are positive sides of CC. Suppose you ordered something though Credit card, and that company didn't deliver you, or refused to take refund because product was defect. You contact credit card company, and let them deal themselves! You WILL get refund from CC no problem. But with Money order, check, or cash and the company refused to deal with you... good luck! Whats more, real credit card offers like car rental insurance for free! That is only if you rent a car for a week or two, and used the credit card, then you automatically have coverage and forget that high priced waiver from car rental agency, real money saver! But again, if these CC is properly used, there is positive benefits in associate with CC. If you can't handle the spending then forget these plastics for now.

Never had the PayPal cash advance problem. Always appears on my CC as a standard charge. With the added protection paying by CC gives you, I *always* pay for big ticket items with a CC, even if I can quickly pay off the CC, that includes eBay purchases. Plus my CC gives me reward points (one is $, the other is Amazon Gift Certs).
I try (and mostly succeed) to be responsible with my CC, the one I do carry a balance but for big emergency expenses like car repairs or if my compter dies (I am self employed) the CC is crucial. I make it a point to pay more than the minimum payment (usually way more) as the minimum payment would take forever to pay it off if you didn't charge anything else.
 
heh I have one credit card, so it's not a problem for me. My roommate has 4 and he's on SSI, I told him get a damn job and he can catch up paying it all off. Having a roommate really blows. :P
 
We have VISA card but we do not accept "credit".

I use VISA card to every stores where they have points to add on VISA statement. I use VISA with points at Supermarket mostly because of foods and drink eg. They give me €15 coupon when I collect up to 1,500 points. Also any electricial materials where they offer for 1,000 points on each months. That´s how we got DVD recorder thru points last year.

We use bankcard only if the VISA card is not acceptance to any stores or the cash from bank. We limit the VISA card because we dont accept credit in VISA card.
