Hi,
I'm a Multimedia Student working on an interactive installation. The concept is an interactive audio installation that allows the user to create music with assistance from projections and lights. Our aim is to provide music enthusiasts to create music in a completely different way. We then discussed this would be a very useful tool for people with impaired hearing.
The user will be able to create their own music using representations of real instruments (piano, guitar and drum). The screen and surrounding lighting will react to every decision they make. The user will have the ability to loop and record their own tracks and have the option to choose what genre we would like to play. Images will appear on screen that would reflect the beat and pitch. For example, classical music would have music notes and calming light.
I was wondering does anyone with impaired hearing find this installation useful, would it help them to create music, would there be something that would make this experience better?
Leave some feedback if you are interested, we would love to hear from you to guide us with our project.
Thank you for your help
-Heather
