I just got back from Rochester, NY. Before I went on a trip, I just thought the idea of doing various geographical speed test using iPhone 4. Since I knew that 3G speed in various place are very wide range and using Facetime or using Fring can impact the quality of the video. I know many of you will say 4G will get the best picture but it's not necessary that 4G will be the best, 3G can be very good as well, but it's all depending on where you live. It's suprising that Rochester have very high speed performance than where I live.
Here's the speed test result of where I live, I was driving on Baltimore Washington Parkway (Rt 295):
As you may noticed that upload speed will be bad for using Facetime and will be very choppy while viewing it.
Now next picture, this is in Rochester, NY:
and for the fun of it, when I was outside of 3G, my iPhone 4 changed from 3G to Edge speed, LOL I laughed:
As you noticed that upload speed is zero cuz Speedtest is fed up with waiting for getting the data going on speed, LOL.
Then I give a try to download Solitaire app using Edge speed. It took 3 hours to down load and installed. Awesome!
