Vanishing threads?

Where has everything gone? I was posting on a few threads, one had about 6 pages and now I look back and it's only got 2. Several of my threads have disappeared and I can't find them at all, some of other people's that I was following are also gone, I can't find them merged in with another thread, there is nothing in my inbox to say I posted in the wrong place or anything, it's just all gone!

Is this the case for everyone or has my computer done something bizarre and trawled pages out of the cache? I put this here because nearly all the threads concerned were education ones.

Does this happen a lot?
