Hi all,

My name is Matt Steckler, co-founder of Buzzeromatic.com. We recently launched Buzzeromatic to assist people who live in apartments and condo's open their secure-entry front door.

See:
Buzzeromatic - Features - Buzzeromatic

We need the Deaf communities feedback - we're putting together a system that would SMS you when you have a visitor at the door, positively identify them, and allow you to open the front door without ever worrying about voice.

Is this a tool you would find useful?

Thanks for the feedback.

two things, one most deaf who might be using this will be having mostly deaf freinds visit so the doormail/voicemail will not work. It will be highly marketable if you were able to use videomail instead of vioce mail. I seen the same thing at my local store with a built in cam and whiteboard for the kitchen and parants can leave video message for the kids.
The other thing is that is the guests don't have passcode, how will ytour device be able to call VRS relay since most of us dont have cell phone for sms message. The relayh operator won't understand automated message, it needs a live person.

Definitely. I already tell people to email me or IM me since I often don't hear the doorbell.

Good questions.

Thanks for the reply Radioman,

The idea is that your guest, Deaf or hearing, will have a pre-assigned passcode that you generate and give to that person. So, when they visit you, they will enter the code at the box after a few seconds, and then we automatically send you an sms with the name of the visitor, which you can then reply with a command to open the door.

Additionally, we can bypass pin's alltogether, and SMS you notification that someone is there when they press your name on the buzzer - allowing you to buzz them in using SMS.

If you'd like to try this out, please email me directly - matt@buzzeromatic.com
