Indiana School for the Deaf assistant coach Keith Westhoelter was named coach for the U.S. Senior Men's National Team that will play in the 2009 Deaflympics in Taipei, Taiwan.
Westhoelter, a former Indiana Deaf head coach, was the member of the U.S. gold-medal Deaflympic teams as a player in 1993 (Sofia, Bulgaria), 1997 (Copehagen, Denmark) and 2001 (Rome, Italy).
He also was an assistant coach for the 2005 Deaflympic team in Australia and coach for the last year's World Deaf Basketball Championship in Guangzhou, China, where USA Men won the bronze medal.
