Thunderbirds Host Clinic at School for the Deaf - OurSports Central

The defending NBA Development League Champion Albuquerque Thunderbirds will be hosting a clinic at the New Mexico School for the Deaf on Monday, February 26 at 5:30 p.m. The clinic will be at the School for the Deaf gymnasium preceding the New Mexico House vs. Senate Basketball game.

Students at the school will receive valuable lessons in life and basketball from Thunderbird players and coaches, including former Los Angeles Lakers great and Thunderbirds Head Coach Michael Cooper. The clinic will also be open to the public for anyone that would like to observe.

Following the clinic, members of the New Mexico House of Representatives will take on members of the State Senate. Game time is set for 7 p.m. Tickets to the game are $5 and can be purchased at the State Capital building in Room 125 or at the door prior to the game. All proceeds from the game will be donated to the UNM Cancer Center.

The NBA D-League includes the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (N.M.), Anaheim Arsenal (Calif.), Arkansas RimRockers (Little Rock), Austin Toros (Texas), Bakersfield Jam (Calif.), Colorado 14ers (Broomfield), Dakota Wizards (Bismarck, N.D.), Fort Worth Flyers (Texas), Idaho Stampede (Boise), Los Angeles D-Fenders, Sioux Falls Skyforce (S.D.) and Tulsa 66ers (Okla.). Expansion teams have already been awarded to Orem, Utah and the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas for the 2007-08 season.
