I'm going to San Antonio on my birthday for a trip and i was wondering does anyone know of some good things to see while I'm down there. I"m certainly looking for inexpensive fun ideas. Please give me ideas our group is eager to do things.

Water park? I am not sure what's gonna happening down there. Maybe research online or ask around as well.

Why don't you go to the Alamo? It ain't cost you nothing to go see it. Also you could go eat on the Riverwalk. I would suggest Six Flags Fiesta Texas but it's not inexpensive.

I see you live in St. Joe. Isn't that not too far from Saint Cloud? :)

F.Y.I. Countrygal, The Alamo is right next to the Amtrak train station in San Antonio. It is just right there after you get off the Amtrak train and walk out of the train depot right in front of you.

Austin is good, alot of gay friendly and wonderful city to visit. :)

Just an hour from San Antonio, it's not bad.

See i can't go anywhere but San Antonio we are going for the National Youth Gathering that's being held in the stadium where the refuges were held for katrina.

Since you live in Minnesota, now would be a good time to go by Amtrak to Texas. They have sleeping cabins with clean hot shower for the family and breakfast, lunch and dinner are included if your parents buy the sleeping cabin :) :thumb:

That would be one long ass trip by 2 trains. I know, cause I checked it out. Flying would be much cheaper, especially if you get tickets from Frontier Airlines. I got mine for only $298 roundtrip when I came out here for a week last February to look for an apartment.

And, FYI, Heath, if you were to take a train from Saint Cloud to San Antonio, you would have to spend one night in Chicago due to the timing of when the train from Saint Cloud arrives. The one from St. Cloud arrives about an hour later after the train to TX leaves. And if you were to order tickets at amtrak.com, because of the timings that I mentioned, they would show you the options of taking the train all the way around the country to Seattle, California, and then finally Texas, not the option of the train from MN to Chicago and 2nd train from Chicago to TX. That would take a week to get here and a hell of a lot of money. I checked it out when I was looking at my options of how to get to San Antonio from MN....ended up flying instead, saved me more than a couple hundred bucks.
