A SHAMELESS thief brazenly walked into the Hallaton home of a deaf and partially-blind 84-year-old, stealing £150 from her handbag.
The burglar, aged about 19, walked through the pensioner's back garden and through her back door at about 5pm last Wednesday (March 7).
The elderly woman, who was watching television, was oblivious to the crime but a neighbour spotted the crook, who made his getaway in a silver car.
The suspect is described as having a slim build, was about 5ft 4ins tall, with dark wavy hair and was wearing a dark jumper and light-grey trousers.
PC Ann Herity of Harborough police said they would like to hear from anybody who saw anybody acting suspiciously to call them on 0116 2222222.
