The lawyer wrote on a note:
“I, as your lawyer cannot afford to have an interpreter present, but can you read my lips?”
The deaf person took the note and read it. He then took his time to think abut the note and then he wrote a note and gave it to the lawyer.
The lawyer read the note, which said: “I, as the client, cannot afford to go without an interpreter, but can you lead my hands when I am doing sign language?”
:) :laugh2:
