doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Why do some people support drug criminalization, when prohibition didnt work?

Because a free for all would be truly devastating to society-then you would really, really see an insane and chaotic world, and I am reffering only to drugs that are currently illegal. If you are reffering to illegal drugs, please gets some help.

Isn't it ironic that the OP used the definition of insanity that is widely used by people in 12 step recovery programs to describe their addiction?:cool2:

yup, I used that definition for irony. When has prohibition ever worked? Since it never has why keep doing it?

chaos is currently what we have. People buy drugs every day without knowing the quality or purity of them.

Also, prohibition doesnt keep drugs out of the hands of teens. Drugs can be bought in the majority of high schools.

Doug......it SOUNDS good......YAY...legalize drugs. But what pro anti-prohibs don't understand is that legalizing drugs won't end a lot of the violence and desperation that is associated with drug addicts. Drug addicts rob, steal lie etc to get their next fix. Drugs can also cause significent psychosis ( did you know for example that back during the 50's in Japan when, meth-like substances were legal there was a very high rate of psyicois?)

Expecting no one to use drugs because theyre illegal is as realistic as expecting teens not to have sex cuz they were taught abstinence

not saying anyone has that expectation. I am saying supporting the failed policy of drug criminalization is as foolish as supporting the failed abstinence education program for teen pregnancy.
